I graduated from Oita University and am in my third year as a doctor.
I currently work at Iizuka Hospital. When I was a student, I was a member of the table tennis club.
What inspired you to pursue a career in respiratory medicine?
The reason I decided to become a respiratory medicine specialist was because I was attracted by the good atmosphere of the medical department and the appropriateness of the respiratory medicine department. The atmosphere of the medical department is very good, and there are many kind doctors. My university classmates often say that there are many doctors in the respiratory medicine department who are not quirky, and I think that is true.
In addition to general internal medicine, respiratory medicine also offers a wide range of procedures, including bronchoscopy and drains, and treats a wide range of illnesses, from infectious diseases to lung cancer. You can choose to specialize in acute care, or you can become a doctor who stays close to patients and walks through life with them. I was drawn to the kindness of the people and the perfect fit for respiratory medicine, which is why I decided to pursue a career in respiratory medicine.
What kind of doctor would you like to become in the future?
I want to become a doctor who is close to patients and trusted by them and those around them. To achieve this, I want to become a doctor who never neglects to improve my medical knowledge, values each patient’s background and values, and provides medical care that suits each patient. I would also be happy to cooperate with other professions as a member of a medical team and provide better medical care to patients as a result.

As I wrote earlier, the respiratory medicine department has a good atmosphere and is flexible enough to fit anyone. Recently, we have also had many new recruits.
