Disclosure of Research Information

At the Faculty of Medicine, Oita University, various research projects are being conducted for the advancement of medical science. Such research cannot be conducted freely by the researchers; it must first undergo a review to ensure there are no ethical issues concerning the research methods or the burden on participants. At the Faculty of Medicine, Oita University, this review is conducted by two committees, the “Interventional Clinical Research Review Committee” and the “Ethics Committee,” with multiple members, including external members.

On the website of the University Hospital of Oita University, research projects that have been approved by the above two committees and authorized for implementation by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the Director of the University Hospital, since April 2017, are listed. These include research projects that involve using patient records written in medical charts or leftover blood or tissue samples taken from patients during tests or surgeries, with full disclosure of the information beforehand.

If any of the listed research projects are related to you, please review the details of the study. If you feel you cannot cooperate with a particular study, you can opt out of the research. You may freely contact the listed contact information in the description of each study. Please rest assured that opting out of a study will not result in any disadvantage, and you will continue to receive the best medical care as usual.
